'Strike out Cancer' program at participating Taco Bell and KFC restaurants

From June 11-July 1, customers at participating Taco Bell and KFC restaurants will be asked to contribute $1 to the Jimmy Fund as part of the restaurants' "Strike out Cancer" program. In return for their contribution, customers will receive a paper baseball icon to write their name upon and have displayed in the restaurant. It is great way for people to see how they can make a big difference and help "Strike out Cancer."
Taco Bell restaurants have generously supported the Jimmy Fund since 1999 and last year KFC joined the efforts. Participating Taco Bell and KFC restaurants are located throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, and New York.
"We are so proud of our team and the continued relationship with the Jimmy Fund. It is our privilege to raise money to help conquer cancer," said Roger Lockwood, Taco Bell franchisee. "We are pleased again this year to be joining forces with participating KFC stores to raise even more money for an excellent cause. Between Taco Bell and KFC, we can certainly make a big difference in the fight against cancer."
The Jimmy Fund supports the fight against cancer at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for children and adults with cancer around the world. Since 1948, the generosity of millions of people has helped the Jimmy Fund save countless lives by furthering cancer research and care. Unrestricted support from the Jimmy Fund is an integral part of Mission Possible: The Dana-Farber Campaign to Conquer Cancer, a $1 billion capital campaign to accelerate cancer research, speed development of life-saving therapies, and expand the Institute's signature patient- and family-centered care.
